This Privacy Policy explains how iBuddie ("iBuddie", "we", "us") handles information across our website at ibuddie.in and our application at ai.ibuddie.in (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Information you may provide

Account information

To use the iBuddie app, you may sign in using Google Sign-In or a phone number. Depending on the method, this can share your name, email address, profile picture, or phone number with us, as needed to create and secure your account.

Questions and prompts you submit

When you ask a doubt, we process the text you type — and, where photo-doubt upload is supported, any image you submit — in order to generate an explanation. This content is sent to the AI systems that power the Service (see "Third-party services" below) and may be stored to provide the Service, improve reliability, and investigate abuse or errors.

Uploaded images

Where the app supports asking a doubt by photo, images you upload (such as a photo of a textbook page or handwritten problem) are processed to generate your answer. Avoid uploading images containing sensitive personal information unrelated to your academic question.

Contact and support messages

If you email us or use the contact form, we receive whatever information you choose to include — typically your name, email address, and message.

Payment information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card or payment credentials ourselves.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and app may use cookies or similar technologies (such as local storage) to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect parts of the Service.

3. Analytics

We may use analytics tools to understand how visitors use our website and app — for example, which pages are viewed and how features are used — so we can improve the Service. Analytics data is generally aggregated and is used to understand usage patterns, not to identify you personally.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

Our website may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can learn more about how Google uses this data and manage your ad preferences at Google's Ads Policy page and opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings.

We do not currently run additional third-party ad networks beyond Google AdSense on this website.

5. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers to operate, which may include: Google (sign-in and advertising), hosting and infrastructure providers, a payment processor for subscriptions, and third-party AI model providers used to generate step-by-step explanations from your submitted questions. Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy terms in addition to this policy.

6. Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the Service. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data retention

We retain account information and submitted questions for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (see "Contact" below).

8. Children's and student privacy

iBuddie is intended for use by school and college students preparing for exams such as JEE, NEET, KCET and Boards. If you are a minor, we recommend using the Service with the awareness and, where appropriate, the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect more information from minors than is necessary to provide the Service. If you believe a minor has provided us with information beyond what's needed and you'd like it removed, contact us and we will look into it.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below and we will respond as required by applicable law.

10. What this policy does and doesn't claim

This policy describes our current practices as a small, growing service. We are not claiming certification under, or formal compliance audit against, any specific data protection law or standard. As iBuddie grows, our data practices, the third parties we work with, and this policy may be updated — we'll revise this page to reflect those changes.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to hello@ibuddie.in or via our Contact page.
